1Pick your language

These six already have a rough machine translation. Every line is present and in the right shape, so you are correcting text rather than writing it from nothing — that is the most useful thing anyone can do here.

2Edit the text

Six rules. The first three are the ones that break a mod if they are missed.

1. Unzip it and open a .json file in any text editor. Each line looks like "Key": "Some text" — translate only the text in the second pair of quotes. Never change the key on the left, or the game will not find it.
2. %1 and %2 are slots the game fills in with a number or a name. Keep them, but move them wherever your language needs them.
3. A real percent sign must be written twice: %%. A single % that is not followed by a digit will error in game.
4. Save as UTF-8 without BOM, and do not rename the files.
5. Keep every key. If a line has no good translation, leave the English and say so — a missing key shows up as raw text in game.
6. Short is better. Most of these strings sit in buttons, tooltips and panels that do not grow, so a translation much longer than the English may be cut off.

3Send it back

That is the whole job.

Zip the finished files and post them on the mod's Steam discussion page, or drop them in the Discord. Attach the files rather than pasting the text — copy and paste tends to eat the accents. Every contributor is credited on the mod page unless you would rather not be.
