What this site collects
Last updated 11 October 2026
Short version: there is nothing to sign into, nothing to upload, and no advertising network on this site. Page counts are measured without cookies, and the one feature that stores anything — the wishlist vote — stores hashes rather than anything that can be read back.
1. Who this covers
HydeCo Games LLC operates hydecogames.com, including the mod pages, the Project
Zomboid Tool-Kit at /tools/, the translation pages and the wishlist vote.
This page describes those. It does not cover the Steam Workshop, Discord, Twitch or any
other site you reach by following a link from here — those run under their own
policies.
2. No accounts, no uploads
There is no registration, no login, no profile and no comment box. Nothing on this site asks for your name, your email address or any payment detail, and there is nowhere to upload a file. If you want to contact us you send an email, and then we have whatever you chose to put in it.
3. What is processed when you visit
Delivery and security. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To send you a page at all, Cloudflare handles your request and in doing so processes your IP address, your browser's user agent and the address you asked for. This is ordinary web serving and also what keeps the site up under abuse.
Measurement. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they use. It sets no cookies, builds no profile, and does not follow you to other sites. What we see are totals — page counts, referring sites, countries, load times — never individuals.
The wishlist vote. Voting at /vote/ is the only place anything is
written to a database, and it is deliberately built so that nothing readable is kept:
- Your browser generates a random token and keeps it in local storage. The server never stores that token — it stores a salted SHA-256 hash of it.
- Your IP address is also hashed with a salt before anything is written, so the stored value cannot be turned back into an address. It exists only to cap how many ballots can come from one connection.
- Alongside those two hashes we keep which options you picked and when you last changed them. That is the whole record.
Your browser's own storage. The tools remember small preferences locally — things like your zoom level or a filter you set — and the vote keeps its random token there. This data stays in your browser, is not a cookie, and is never sent anywhere except the vote token when you actually vote.
4. Content embedded from other services
The front page embeds a Twitch player and a Discord widget. Those load directly from Twitch and Discord, which means those companies see the request and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We receive nothing from them. Blocking third-party frames in your browser or an extension stops this, and the rest of the site keeps working.
5. Why any of it is processed
To serve the pages you asked for, to keep the site available and resistant to abuse, to know in aggregate whether the tools are being used and are fast enough, and to keep the wishlist vote roughly honest without identifying anyone.
6. Who else receives it
Cloudflare, as the host, CDN, analytics provider and database. That is the list. Nothing is sold, nothing is shared with data brokers, and there is no advertising network on the site. If that ever changes this page will be updated before it does, and the date at the top will change with it.
7. How long it is kept
Cloudflare's operational logs are short-lived and held by Cloudflare, not by us. Analytics are aggregate counts with no individual records to delete. Vote rows last until the ballot closes or the entry is removed, whichever comes first. Email you send us is kept until it is dealt with.
8. Your choices
Clearing site data for hydecogames.com in your browser removes every preference the tools saved and the vote token, which also detaches your ballot from your browser. Browser or extension blocking stops the embeds and the analytics request. Because the vote stores only hashes, there is no account for us to look up — but if you want to ask what is held or have something removed, email us and we will work it out with you.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. There is no account system through which a child could provide information. If you believe something was sent to us anyway, email us and it will be deleted.
10. Where it is processed
Cloudflare serves the site from whichever of its locations is nearest you, so your request may be handled outside your own country. The vote database lives on Cloudflare's infrastructure under the same arrangement.
11. Security
The site is served over HTTPS only. The vote stores salted hashes rather than readable values, and there is no account database to breach because there are no accounts. No website can promise perfect security, and this one does not.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. A change that affects what is collected or who receives it will be called out on the page rather than slipped in.
13. Contact
Email [email protected] with anything about this page, or anything you want removed.
